Our Favorite Things: October
Share
October is a special month. It brings cooler weather, the winds of change, and the giddiness that the holidays are just around the corner. Gifts start to come to mind of what to surprise our loved ones with and the smell of pumpkin lattes are in the air. We think of years past, traditions we carry on, and new experiences we want to partake in this year to make it just a little more meaningful.
In honor of this special month, we thought we'd share some fall favorites with you from the marketplace that we feel would make this season even more memorable for you and your loved ones and carry those memories for years to come.
Driving us into this magical new season is this original oil painting by Karen Burns, "In the Weeds". We love that it makes you feel like you're driving down a back road then turning into a country field that's just beginning to turn beige with the new change in weather. Give us a tailgate to watch the sun go down on and we'll be in our happy place.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we couldn't help but mention this handmade ceramic serving dish made by Barbara with Cupcake Clayworks. It will add style and charm to any styled table for the holidays (and even has a little green in it for you to use at Christmas too!)
This Fall Neutral Trio of beaded stacking bracelets made by Erin with Stacking It Up are one of our favorite fall jewelry finds this year. They bring the special feeling of handmade jewelry to your soul and their neutral color will make them go with any outfit.
With Halloween right around the corner, this Full Moon Necklace made by Erica with Derive Jewelry feels like a must have this month. Stylish, subtle, and right in time for the holiday.
Another Halloween find are the Spirit Houses made by Sylvr with Sharp Objects. Dress up your home for the spooky holiday with these one of a kind decor finds.
It wouldn't be fall without a new scarf, are we right? This beautiful Northern Lights Handwoven Scarf was made by Kelly with Studio 308. This talented artisan lives just outside of Yellowstone National Park and we can only dream of all those leaves changing colors right now.
With the fall season comes gatherings for friends and family and usually a tagline saying "you bring the wine". What better way to ensure it will get there safely than by using this gorgeous Insulated Wine Bag by Joanna Stanek? (It comes in Camel tan and Mercury gray too!)
We couldn't have a favorites list without a scented candle in the mix. This Maple + Chai candle made by Jordan with Love, Light, and Peonies Candles has all the warm and cozy vibes and sounds just good enough to drink out of our favorite mug (although we don't actually recommend it).
There's something about trees that reminds us of dewy mornings in the apple orchard with water drops forming on the leaves all around. Their rings remind us of years gone by and we can't help but think "I wonder what was here before us". This Tree Ring Watercolor Print from Shannon Angel Art is an easy and inexpensive way to bring unique home decor to any autumn inspired space.
We leave you with this last, but certainly not least, favorite of ours. The original drawings from Taylor Norris at Two Tayls Studio. Each one is so inspiring, it makes us want to take up backpacking and wander the wild mountain forests with nothing but a tent, camera, and instant coffee. Any one of her drawings will start your day with hope, adventure, and a little more connection to the great outdoors.
Each of our artists has something special waiting for you as you stumble upon their online booths in our site. Each one has put endless hours into their craft and you know as soon as you open the delivery box that it was made with care, passion, and love. We hope you'll scroll around in these pages and discover what speaks to you this holiday season (or to a family friend or loved one) and support our small business artists because they, just like their products, are truly one of a kind.
